Texas Hold'em tonight, we had 15 players, a lot of the RV'ers have left for Mexico and the ones who were there tonight are just now going.  Really a lot of fun, everyone wanted re-buys, which made the evening a little longer then usual.  Jack Kitchens and I battled back in fourth for 4 place and we both got taken out by Sharon and Ted. Mike was on duty and could not play, the first place winner got $55 nice pot.  I am bound and determined to win soon. It is always a lot of fun to be with other RV'ers.  Next week watch out I am going to get back in the game of winning.

I have started a new craft, it's making table top covers for the Steering Wheels.  Here is one that I just made for the coming 4th, I had been looking for different colors and had only found them in White at Camping World so off to the fabric store I went.  Have purchased 5 different fabrics plus the one above, don't know what the colors are in RV's these days but hope I have made the right choices.  See how to order

Harry who is from Indiana and his wife Karon have bought the corn ball toss game with them, a popular game back east. After explaining the rules too some new rv'ers he set up the game.  We have been playing for about 4 weeks.

Here are the Players,
we drew a crowd this night and all played

I must be getting better, see how serious I am  Cheryl
was on the opposite team and she was a first time player, ( the game is too get the bag in the opposite hole ( the board is placed 30 ft apart), for 3 points or on the board for one and game is 21 points, if the opposite team gets a bag in also then you each lose the points same if the bags get on the board)   the guys  Rich & Dune, Cheryl, and I were playing, Rich was my partner and Dune was Cheryl's, Rich tried his best but he said that my 18 points really did help to win!  Hey Rich the game is 21 we won thanks for the 2 points .

Karon who was at the opposite end kept telling me to loft the bag, it worked as I actually hit the hole 9 times tonight. It is great fun and lots of back and right arm exercise.  After winning 4 games I had to get someone else to play my spot, liked winning but enough is enough time for someone else to win.  I talked Mike in joining us for the game he is a fast learner he made several holes and after teasing Pauline made her miss a couple Pauline's being taught how to throw from Mike (now who is the teacher and the student?) Mike makes her laugh and she misses "FOUL PLAY MIKE"

Here comes two new players JR and Ann

I will be back next week to see if I can do better.

Tumacacori, AZ

Fran my sister and I went to the Santa Cruz Spice Factory, found out  really does not produce the spices but carries spices from all around the southwest and New Mexico.  We found spices we did not even know existed, Fran bought a lot we then headed for the Aqua Linda farms which is just down the road from the RV park,

as you exited the car it was wonderful there was actually no sound to be heard except for the birds, it was peaceful and beautiful

and as we got out of the car you see the rams and goats and of course a farm has to have a couple of donkeys

you then walk to the farm house and come across lots of gourds ready for making that craft project. Under the veranda is a fire going with people  sitting around and talking, I would have love to spend the whole day here, it was so peaceful but we had to get back to the park

so Fran made her purchases and home we went.  It was a great and beautiful day.

After a day with Fran it was time to put on the Texas Hold'em game again and this time we had 16 players so first place was $40 bucks, guess who won??  Mike was one of the first players out but I stuck in there, Phyllis who came in second & Is battled back and forth for first, she had over 7500 chips and I was down to my last 1400, I went all in and she called, won that hand double my chips, I then just double the bet and she called, she won some chips back, it was getting late so I decided to go all in again, too make a long story short, we did that several times back and forth until finally I had more chips then she, so I went all in she called, the flop was jack, six and a three, I had a pair of 10's in my hand, she had sixes, CRAP, I am a goner she has trip 6's, the turn was no help to either of us, then I asked the dealer for a 10 PLEASE, HE SLOWLY TURNED THE RIVER CARD AND WOW A 10, IT WAS ALL OVER We had a great time!

Carol wins 1st Phyllis wins 2nd Harry wins 3rd

We had a wonderful turnout this night, 12 players in all and everyone said they really enjoyed themselves.  Jerry (bottom right) a really fun guy is Larry's friend who lives in Tubac and comes to our games, he is so much fun and a joy to be at my table. Jack is another River staying here for a week and is thinking about staying longer so he can get his $5. back, next time Jack...That's Rich at the top left and what a character, Glenda (top of the picture) said she wished there was a way to stay longer here in Amado, as she wanted to join in all of the fun coming up, especially Texas Holdem but they had to get back to Las Cruces.  Glenda's husband Gordon along with Ron & Sharon (middle on right) delayed their trip by one day just to play, glad you two did we had fun and it was great too meet them. That's Larry (in baseball hat) he had won last week says he will come back winning next week.

Rich, (standing in picture) one of our park host here, loves to play and has a great personality, he is a big help with dealing and teaching the game, and again lots of laughs and fun to be with!

Mike came in 1st Ron came in second Jack came in 3rd

Told everyone these pictures were for the IRS boy did that get them smiling!!

Hope everyone out there who has played Texas Holdem with us are going strong and let us know how you are doing.  Win a lot and laugh a lot Love Carol

KOKO has found a new home Mike has decided he really did not want another dog let alone a puppy, she has really grown on me but I could not fight the fact Mike was unhappy about having her.  We have found a couple who are wonderful with her and will be picking her up sometime in the middle of Feb.  They are the Wagon Masters for Fantasy Tours and were here organizing there group for the 38 day tour to Mexico.  While here Pam and her husband took her for a walk several times and Koko got to spend time in there RV also.  She got to were she was looking for them every day.  I just hope by the time they come to get her from California, this is were the tour ends up, I will be able to let her go.

A new year and I can't wait too leave and get on the road again, the work here is easy and after some little problems I have started too enjoy the time.  I am organizing different games at the clubhouse and this has helped the time a lot.  We are now playing tournaments (pool, darts, shuffle board and the corn toss game and OH yes Texas Holdem.  It is only 3 months before we head out and I know now the time will go fast. YIPPEE!!

I am finally going to get those pictures of the area for everyone as I am making it a New Years resolution to start seeing more of the area.  Another new year resolution and too stop spending on trivial things, as everyone who knows me this will be a great burden but am sticking to my guns.  There is only one resolution I would like Mike to have and that is stop staying up so late and get up early, but in all of the 42 years that would be a miracle. I hope everyone who made a resolution this year will be able to keep it!

That's all for now so keep in touch and let me know how everyone is doing.

Love Carol
