Mike & I had walked the French Quarter when
we came here to board for our cruise to the Caribbean, so we just
walked the river walk this time
We could not see any damage from Katrina but
Sam (another RV'er) said if we had taken I-10 instead of the 23 mile
cross over Lake Pontchartrain, we would have seen the devastation.
Transit around the town by trolley
Harrah's Casino downtown
paid my dues once again, nice large casino
but not worth the $28 for buffet for two. One of the TV Texas Holdem
shows played here.
First alligator we saw was Big Daddy and his
wife
cow lilies
foliage along the way
The man who drove our boat loved to play with
this baby alligator, not me too close for comfort
Downtown Abita Springs
boganvia's are found
everywhere
It seems everyone's yard has lush
landscaping with all of the colors right now it is a wonderful site
as you travel down the roads
Wisteria hangs
from trees and the weeping willows are so large and lush, here, I
did not know until recently that the weeping willow has been used as
a medicine, who would have guessed that you could get aspirin
from this tree.
Abita Springs Brewery
When exiting to from I-12 to Abita Springs this
is what was below the bridge. What a great site
Ugly ducklings found at Abita Springs, LA
Stopping at a rest stop for Brigg and Mike just
before leaving Texas
From Texas to Louisiana

a beautiful site
