Silent Valley RV Resort (ROD) 46305 Poppet Flats Rd.
Banning, CA 92220 951-849-4501
30 minutes up hill to the park, an very long climb, there are plenty
of pull outs so the traffic behind you can go around, take your time
going up this mountain. Elevation 3545
site F 3

When finding our site all we cared about was to get TV from the
satellite, we ended up right beside the horseshoe area, Drew who
also holds the Texas Holdem tournaments comes and practices about
every day. He is a great person and now a
wonderful friend.

When you turn down Poppet Flats Road this is what you

Over 850 sites, this park is well maintained.
Restaurant, Bar, store. They serve dinners on
Thursday thru Saturday and Breakfast buffet on Sunday.
Haven't had the food yet will let you know the prices
and if good or not.
Full hook ups with 50 amps
and the electric is really good, we have had to run both
AC's due to the heat and have had no problems.
There are a lot of trees and the sites are all
sand/dirt. We found site F3 pull thru site, we are
able to get satellite and phone with the booster, and it
is very close to the Adult clubhouse. |

The park is huge over 400 acres, there peak season is
from June to middle of Sept. The park gets full
once again on Halloween, as they take section B and make
it into a hunted forest. Apparently everyone
around the area comes to this. The Restaurant is open
Thursday to Sunday morning. Having dinner
selections from $7.99 to $12.99 Mike and I ate there for
2 dinners and breakfast buffet on Sunday the food is not
bad, beats going down the mountain if you don't want to
fix meals. The staff are friendly and
helpful. There is a full service bar with happy
hour for Monday night football, $2.00 drinks and some
snacks.
We do find that they have a lot
of rules, for instance when coming back into the park
after leaving you must have your gate pass stamped, if
you do not re-register every Tuesday there is a $10
fine. Texas Holdem is played every day
sometimes twice a day depending on who is in the park to
hold the tournament, so you know where we are everyday
at 12:30 (that's when we play poker) There is a
group of folks who play 65, they play it different then
I have played, but we all have fun and I am meeting new
friends. You can see some of the folks we played
with by clicking
here
30 min. away down the winding
road there is Super Wal-Mart, Fantastic Sam's, Nails
Home Depot all in the same shopping area, so you can do
it all in one day if you wish, I do not like the road up
and down so we did all we had to in the same day. |
